Energy Alliance highlights Cincinnati Green Energy Programs
Volunteers knocked on over 2,000 doors in 2010, in an effort to raise area awareness of Cincinnati green energy programs such as energy efficiency. Armed with grants and information, the Alliance hopes to see the day when throughout Cincinnati green energy, conservation, and energy efficiency are simply a part of everyday life.
The Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance is a partnership of governmental agencies, non-profit organizations as well as utility companies who have an interest in the growth and adoption of Cincinnati green energy initiatives. The Alliance includes Duke Energy, the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, the US Department of Energy and many others.
In Cincinnati Green Energy begins with Conservation
While solar panels and wind turbines grab headlines across the nation, it is the energy that we don’t use that will likely have the biggest impact on our energy future. With this in mind, the Alliance offers those living within Cincinnati green energy assessments that are as easy as 1,2,3… 4,5.
First, residential homeowners can receive a low-cost ($50) comprehensive energy assessment. This assessment will be provided by qualified Cincinnati green energy contractors recommended by the Alliance. The contractors will create a “roadmap” specific to your home, suggesting ways you may conserve energy (and save money).
But there are also for residents of Cincinnati green energy incentives to help you implement the plan. Tax incentives up to 35% of the cost of home improvements, as well as low interest loans are available to those who qualify. And lastly, the Alliance will follow up to insure that the work on your home has been done correctly.
Also, a Program Tailored for Cincinnati Green Energy Professionals
The Alliance also hopes the program will bring to Cincinnati green energy jobs such as wind and solar installers, manufacturers – as well as, of course, energy assessment professionals. Through strategic partnerships with educational institutions, local government, non-profits, and Cincinnati green energy professionals, we are committed to developing programs that will allow workers to become skilled in trades related to advanced energy and efficiency services.
In an effort to ensure quality installations within the region, the Alliance has adopted and published minimum standards and best practices for Cincinnati green energy professionals.
