Take the First Step
It begins with a simple phone call or email. Contact us using the resources on this site to begin the conversation that can lead you toward a solar solution that offers the best benefits for your specific needs—for your business, school, government agency, non-profit, institution or residence.
Contact us by your preferred method. To be best prepared for this first conversation, please have a recent utility bill on hand.
Once we have your consent, Third Sun Solar will undertake an initial remote assessment of your project site using satellite imagery. We will use the information you provide and the satellite imagery to prepare a preliminary proposal for your review.
If our preliminary proposal is agreeable, we will schedule an on-site visit at your convenience. At the on-site visit, one of our Project Developers will view your site, make measurements, take photos, conduct a solar pathfinder reading, and fully assess the site’s energy potential.
Using the information gathered at the site visit, our Project Developers will send you a detailed quote and design proposal.
When you accept our proposal, we will ask you to sign a contract and make an equipment down payment. At that point, your project will be put into process: all permit paperwork will be completed, equipment ordered, and a schedule set for your installation.
Installation and commissioning begins. Installations are relatively quick—often we are on and off a roof within a week, depending on the size and complexity of the solar array. Our staff will give you an estimate of our time required on site before the contract is signed.
In order to manage ourselves well and reduce our carbon footprint, we prefer to do as much preliminary consulting as possible remotely, by phone and email, before physically traveling to a customer’s location. Most customers find that this period of discussion and correspondence is very informative; it helps you learn what your options are and develop accurate performance and cost expectations before engaging us to travel to perform an on-site visit.
If you’d prefer a site visit earlier in the process, we’ll be happy to do so—but we will ask for a $250 site visit fee in that case. This fee is refunded to you upon completion of a contract with Third Sun Solar.
