Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of a proven track record of consumer sales experience, in home preferred

The Estimator, Electrical Solar PV is a member of the Design and Engineering Team within the Operations Team, working closely with the growth team, and supports all efforts of the team as directed by the Design and Engineering Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Project Estimating: Provide estimated costs of construction for solar projects based on bid/RFP requirements or internally prepared scopes of work. Maintain historic database and library of subcontractor quotes, supplier pricing, and Third Sun Solar labor production factors by task.  Be able to analyze previous budgets and costs, to utilize them in the quoting process of new projects that are either in request for proposal state of development or already contracted.  Works with the Design and Engineering Manager for approval on estimations.  Delivers estimates to the sales team
  • Project Plan Sets: Prepare conceptual or one line project plan sets to support the estimating of construction costs and project estimations, along with a bill of material for each quoted project
  • Code Compliance/Best Practices:  Apply solar design principles, National Electric Code requirements, structural load analysis, and financial analysis on a daily basis
  • System Performance Modeling: Prepare performance models based on system designs in accordance with Third Sun Solar internal standards and practices
  • Assist in interfacing with Operations Team, Growth Team, and Third Parties: Provide support to the Operations and Growth team during system design review, quoting, and procurement of materials
  • Assist in interfacing with Finance Team: Collaborate as needed on the interface between cost tool and accounting system, as well as product details and the procurement process
  • Tools: Assist in developing, maintaining, and refining tools to perform Design and Engineering Team processes, including residential, commercial, and service quote generators, planset design calculations, and others as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equitable work experience
  • Previous experience in solar design a plus and electrical estimating in a commercial and residential setting is required
  • Proven Auto Cad experience in a commercial and residential setting a plus
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand contracts and request for proposals to provide accurate estimating
  • Ability to create a bill of materials
  • Knowledge and experience with the National Electric Code

The Director of Finance is a member of the Leadership Team and reports directly to the COO. The Director of Finance is charged with implementing the vision set by owners and the leadership team based on a triple bottom line approach balancing people, planet, and profit. The Director of Finance will formulate the company’s tactical planning to achieve the objectives of the business plan with the aim of maximizing both short term and long- term return and minimizing risk for the company. The Director of Finance directs financial activities of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through others in the Finance Department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Payroll and HR: Oversees weekly payroll and is the primary liaison with the payroll company. Conducts HR-related tasks such as tracking PTO, benefits, onboarding and terminations, company property allocations, employee relations events, documentation of personnel policies, employee review schedules, and review execution, etc. Maintaining of Safety and Handbook policies. Handles safety reporting.
  • Reporting: Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. This reporting also includes reporting on financial scorecard (key performance indicators)
  • Financial Statement Activity: Provides management with timely organizational financial statements and updates on progress in its various programs and activities. This includes weekly cash flow status, monthly financial closings, budgeted vs. actual reporting, quarterly activity summaries, and annual financial preparations. Close books at period ends, as determined by management. Arranges for audits of company’s accounts, and acts as a liaison with the company’s accounting firm in needed areas such as annual financial audit or review and tax preparation.
  • Taxes: Prepares and remits all necessary taxes and returns, including payroll withholding, sales tax, use tax, and other regular federal, state, and local taxes as needed.
  • Asset/Liability Management: Prepares and monitors ongoing schedules of assets, debts, installments, and depreciation. Including record keeping of all company technology assets, vehicles, and company-owned tools and equipment. Asset management also includes inventory and software associated with the business
  • Insurances: Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities and acts as a liaison with insurance companies. Secures bonds as needed for contractor work, bids, etc.
  • Banking and Treasury Management: Establishes and maintains relations with banks and other financial institutions. Prepares applications, reports, and documents related to accounts and loans. Receives cash and check payments and makes deposits.
  • Internal Controls: Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, accounting software guidelines, inventory guidelines and best practices, and accounting practices.
  • Strategic Planning: Confers with owners, employees at every level, and executive team to plan business objectives, to develop organizational policies, to coordinate functions and operations between divisions and departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.

Job Qualifications

  • Tax: Understanding the experience in sales and use tax laws regarding construction and real property for the states that the company works in.  Experience in contracting with and directing CPA and other financial consultants on corporate financials and tax

Job Description & Responsibilities

The Commercial Project Manager will be part of the Operations Team and will manage commercial projects from large to small scale from inception through installation and commissioning of Solar PV System.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Nurtures the created culture of success and execution of a purpose-driven and values-based organization to successfully lead, manage, and be accountable for company projects
  • Project Manages the successful installation of large to small scale commercial projects
  • Coordinates with operational units to ensure plan sets, permits, materials, installation crew, electricians, utilities, permitting agencies, subcontractors, and customers are ready for each install
  • Creates bill of materials for each job and provides to procurement team
  • Works with engineering to ensure that plan sets are accurate and delivered in the timeframe that allows for permitting and material ordering
  • Negotiates contract, scheduling, and planning for all subcontractors
  • Ensures that all inspections are successfully completed, customers system is commissioned, and working as deemed in the customer contract
  • Ensures that all projects are completed utilizing Third Sun Solar’s Safety policy and procedures
  • Delivers white glove treatment to all customers promoting the highest level of quality with customers, employees, vendors, and community
  • Reports against Key performance Indicators and metrics that are set forth to measure
  • Accountable for maintaining a profitable operation that results in meeting the target budgets of each project, by reviewing each project you are assigned on an ongoing basis and making necessary adjustments
  • Provides accurate schedule and capacity forecasting plan
  • Creates, updates, and trains on processes as it relates to project management and the impact to the operational team
  • Works with many of the company’s computer software such as project management, Auto Cad, and the full Microsoft Suite

Job Qualifications

  • Associates Degree required. Certificate in construction or solar preferred
  • Experience in solar, construction, or an engineering-related industry managing contractors
  • Successful track record of project management in large scale commercial work
  • Proven track record on building and managing projects within their forecasted budgets
  • Highly proficient in the use of analytics for operations, and trend analysis
  • Be able to work in a flexible, “roll up your sleeves” and dynamic work environment
  • Computer Skills: Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Suite and experience using Project Management Software that includes the usage of Gantt charts, and Auto Cad
  • Experience working with customers and in the formal construction bid, subcontractor bids, and request for proposal process
  • Professional experience in the private sector and government contracting, not required, but ideal
  • Has the ability to provide internal and external customer service in accordance with the culture and values of the company
  • Experience reading blueprints
  • The ability to provide construction costs and times estimating to commercial and residential projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and advanced reasoning abilities to problems and data and leadership
